Learn to Make Fire by Rubbing Sticks Together!
With Bowdrill Lessons in Halifax Regional Municipality

Come practice all the skills necessary to create friction fire.  I’ll guide you through the process of making a good fireboard, carving your spindle, putting together your bow and handhold for a fire winning combination.  With a bit of effort you’ll be getting smoke in no time.

  • Understand the cultural context for this crucial survival skill
  • Learn about local woods for survival and fire
  • Build a working bow drill kit from scratch
  • How to make a tinder bundle
  • Embody the physiology and movement to successfully create a coal & then blow it into flames

Lessons are 1.5 hours long and will be scheduled upon registration.  Cost is 20$ per lesson for individuals or 50$ for groups.
